7 Hours!!!!

Lilian slept for 7 hours!!!!!! (give or take a few minutes)

Last night, after she took 6 oz before bed, she went to bed around 8:30 PM. We went to bed very shortly after that. It's been a long busy week with schools starting up. Anyways, next thing we knew it was 3:20! Way to go baby girl!!!!! I fed her a little and put her back down. I was back in bed before 4:00 AM. Sweet!

I wish I could show you what she looks like now, but the flash would just wake her up. So, no, no picture right now. But her head is wedged in her side bumpers and her hands are up around her face. so cute.

I hope we are off to a great start on sleeping all night! I'll keep you posted. :)

I Hate Working!

Don't get me wrong. (Especially if one of my administration catches this blog) I really do like my job. I'm finally starting to get to the place in my career that I've been aiming for, for my whole life...BUT it is really, really sad to leave my little baby every single day.

We are very blessed to have Nana Ricky to be doing most of the caregiving. She's lovin' it. :) And I'm glad that Lilian will have plenty of time with her. Also we will be going to Lindsey's starting next week. I'm glad for a good friend to watch Lilian where I know she'll be cared for. Lindsey's girls, Baylee and Chloe will be good friends to Lilian I'm sure.

All this to say, I'm still very sad that I don't see my daughter for 8-10 hours a day. It makes it really hard to put her down for the 4 hours that she is home before bedtime. I keep telling myself that many parents and children have gone through this and have made it just fine, so we will too.

Ok, enough rambling for this one. I'm going to go watch my baby sleep.

This one shot will get me through the day!

Here are a couple of pics of Lilian flashing us a great smile! I never knew how this little expression would melt my heart again and again. Even looking at the pictures, I nearly tear up because I'm so in love. I hope for some of you, it brings back great memories of your children when they were this small. I hope I never lose this sense of awe and wonder at God's most precious creation...children.

300th picture!

I didn't actually take all 300 pictures. Some of them are imports from Nana and Aunt Stacey. But here's my 300th picture. It's not really her best look, but I'll post another one that is spectacular!

Something Like Mommy

Since the overall consensus is that Lilian looks like a little girl Jeff, I had to add my own touch. See here that our toes match! She's so adorable, and she wasn't even asleep when I painted them!

Day at the Park

Lilian and I have just been all over visiting people.

First we spent a couple hours visiting Baylee and Chloe (and mom, Lindsey). These cutie girls are almost a year and a half old. Lindsey will be watching Lilian for us 2 days/week. So we were getting the girls acquainted with each other, I think they'll all have a good time once the routine gets established. So, thanks Linz, in advance!

Then we met my sister and the kids in the park for some pizza, playtime, and THE BEST SNOWCONES ON THE PLANET! (Side note, the city park in Mt. Vernon has the best Snowcones, nothing else can even claim to be a snowcone compared to these delectible summertime treats. Mary, you're the best!) I certainly should've had a picture of all our blue faces, but alas, didn't think of it, till now.

But on to the shots I do have...Poor Lilian wasn't into playing, she slept through the whole visit!

Here's Nathaniel being a monkey, nothing new here. I can't believe he's 6 years old already!

Nathaniel and Josie were watching the ducks and geese. Apparently they were camera shy. But the kids are always ready!

I love this face! Josie is an amazing 2 year old in my opinion. She just talked nonstop and is ALWAYS ready to "help" with baby Lilian. I have a feeling she might get my daughter into some mischeif someday. :)

First SMILE! :)

Here's our cute little Lilian showing off a grin. We've seen a few smiles here and there but here's the first we've got on camera! Yeah, she was looking at Daddy.

Oh daddy, what was that noise?!?!?!?!?!?!? Don't blame it on me!!!!! I don't even smell THAT bad!

New Do

Here's the CHOP! Jeff has been wanting me to get a hair cut for a while now. I didn't tell him when or how I was going to get it done. I surprized him! He even liked it!
It's always better when the stylist fixes your hair, so I had to take a picture! Especially since I was heading off to go swimming right afterwards!
Here's the look as I fixed it the next day. Not too bad I didn't think. You see, I'm not a very good hair person. You would think that I'd be awesome at hair since mom was a hairdresser for 25 years. Unfortunately that ability isn't genetic. (Poor Lilian, I'll never do her justice in the hair dept. Don't you just love the passed out baby accessory I have?)

Here's the pile of hair that got cut off! Wow! I had the longest hair since high school! Now we're starting over! Let the fun begin!

Happy Birthday Lilian!

Sunday Aug 3, 2008

Yeah ok, so it's a 1 MONTH birthday. That still counts, right? I realized just this morning that it has been an entire month without sleeping 5 hours straight! Whoa! And we have even survived this long! Granted, weariness has set in, but overall not too bad. We still think Lilian is the best thing to have ever happened! A comment was mentioned in Sunday school (which we made it to for the first time in a month) that a soul is created at conception and lives on for eternity, hopefully the Heaven side of eternity. So our little Lilian, especially designed by God, our Creator, will be around for all eternity. We pray nightly that God will lead her life and that she will follow Jesus all her days. It's amazing to think that God already knows every detail of her life yet to come.
