Don't Kick the Turkeys!

Here are a few shots of the play our church put on called "Don't Kick the Turkeys". Thanks Holly for taking some shots for me. The play was about a church getting a new pastor and some church member's giving him a hard time of it. In the end, the Lord changes hearts and all ends well. :) It was really a very funny play. I laughed out loud when I read the script for the first time. This project was quite a challenge for me, with all that memorizing. But it was a good brain work out! Too bad that doesn't burn calories! Anyways, Kathy, thanks for putting up with me and being a great director. Hope to do it again someday, but not too soon! ;)

Spring!!!!

Here is my first flower! I have several more budding. My daffodils are planted interspersed with my tulips, so I should have some lovely flowers all spring. Hopefully the deer will stay away from them. :)

Old Faithful

Is there anyone out there who is addicted to chap stick?!? I'm using the term chapstick to refer to all things lip balm. My preferred brand is Avon's Care Deeply. Good stuff!
Well, I keep several tubes in various places. I almost always have one in my pocket. I even avoid wearing pants with no pockets so I won't be without my chapstick. How sad is that!? Anyways, I usually have one in each coat and maybe 2 in my purse. The problem with these little things is that they get lost so easily!
I can't even tell you how many times I've washed chapstick. And I have learned that they will survive the wash, but they WON'T live through the dryer. And most of the time, in the dryer, they will melt and leave grease spots all over the clothes, ruining them.
One year, for Christmas, my mother-in-law got me 6 tubes, I think. It could've been more. Well, this post is really about a faithful chapstick. I have actually used this one up. I took the picture right before I threw it away. I mean, really, how often is it that you use up a chapstick!? This little guy has been around a while, washed more than once, lost, and found again. And it has been replaced. Thanks Ricky for keeping me in stock!

MacGyver

Do you remember MacGyver? I'm not even sure I've spelled it right. But you know, the guy who could save the world with some duct tape and some gum! Boy was my dad a fan. Of course, we used to tease him left and right about it all. In fact, we still do. And we certainly wish we could still tease him to his face about it all. Anyways, in the spirit of MacGyver, my sister rigged her broken windshield wiper with a glove and some electrical tape so it wouldn't scratch up the glass. We had quite a good laugh about it. I guess dad's ingenuity has been passed down. :)

On the Move, Baby!

Oh yeah, we've been waiting for this! We could see it on the horizon and it still took us by surprise. I was in the bedroom changing when Lilian trotted herself across the room to grab some papers/books. This was her first move in the forward direction! Jeff was in the garage working on the truck so I called his cell phone and told him to get back to the bedroom. He must have thought that something was wrong because he arrived in very short order! So I told him to watch and Lilian just crawled right over to him! We were very excited and shot this short video to share with the world. Lilian's been walking around quite a bit, with assistance, of course, so we figured just as she's learning to put one foot in front of the other has translated into the crawling world. Which makes her independent! 8 months and 1 week. I have no idea how that translates into normal age ranges, but we are proud as peaches of our little wonder.

7 AM

I cannot even tell you how much I loved seeing the clock turn 7:00 from the comfort of my bed! Lilian fussed a little in the night, but not enough to get up for. She ended up sleeping until 7:30! Jeff suggested that I get in the shower around 6:50. Of course, I resisted until I saw 7:00. It felt so amazing to stay in bed! For those of you who know me, sleeping is one of my favorite activities. I even wondered how I would manage having a baby, but it's been fine...duh. Well, I guess that's all I got to say about that! Have a great week everyone!

Lilian is 8 Months

Here's Lilian's latest trick...She can go from her tummy to sitting up all by herself. :) I'm beginning to wonder if she'll ever crawl, she really wants to get up and walk! Anyways, we are proud of our little wonder. And she is truly a wonder every day. I can't even imagine what we did without her. (besides sleep)
