Sweetest Sound Ever

I've had this rolling around in my head for a few days now. And I can't remember which day it was exactly, but I hope I never forget the sound. Jeff was getting Lilian changed for bed and he was playing "peek-a-boo" with her. Lilian just giggled and squealed. In my mind there's nothing sweeter than the sound of daddy and baby laughing together. Thank-you, Lord, for the gift of a good daddy.

How does my garden grow...

I have been bugging Jeff for a while now about planting a small garden. I really just wanted to see if I could do it. Which, of course, has yet to be seen. With all this rain we've had this Spring, I was beginning to wonder if it was going to happen at all. But Jeff tilled through the mud and we've got a small patch. I have 2 rows of corn, with room for another row in a couple weeks, 2 rows of green beans, 3 tomato plants, 2 bell pepper plants, and 2 watermelon plants. The watermelons are looking rough right now, I really hope they come out of it! I was so excited to come back from our camping trip to find some corn and beans starting to sprout! Here's my little garden, started! :)

Camping Trip Pt. 2

I couldn't fit all my pics on one post.

Lilian seemed to like riding bikes....

Camping Trip Pt. 1

This past weekend was our first camping trip with Lilian. We went camping last fall but we didn't keep her with us. This time was for real! I think she had a good time. She didn't stay up late enough to try roasted marshmallows, but we'll catch that next time. She's at an in-between stage of movement...she REALLY wants to walk, but she's not quite there. It's a good thing there were some teenage girls there to entertain and play with her. Thanks girls! Here's some shots of our trip.

Daddy with Lilian (I think she's signing "eat")

Playing in the sand! Of course she had to taste it, YUCK!

She liked swinging!

Xtreme Forgiveness

I was young in the days of Xtreme Sports, and everyone just ran with the whole "Xtreme" thing. Everything was Xtreme something...but I've recently been tested in the area of forgiveness. Lilian has been screaming if she doesn't get her way, right away. (i know the best is coming in a year or two) But we get to work up to it, right? Anyways, she just really tries my patience when she's throwing a complete fit because we won't let her dismantle the nightlights, or drag all the junk out of the cabinets. But once she gets over her tirade, she's fine and dandy and ready to play. I don't know about you, but I need a few minutes to recover. And yet, I find myself smiling and moving on just like she has. It would seem, however, that her recovery doesn't take much, it's just that she's over it that quickly. When I smile and play with her again, it has taken quite a bit of will power not to be angry with her and hold a grudge. And it happens many times a day! So, how would the world be different, if we forced ourselves to forgive and move on? Would it be a kinder place? Safer? Isn't it nice that we have a God who forgives us each and every time we come to Him? Does He get tired of us? I know He gets heartbroken over us. And then forgives and casts our sins into the sea of forgetfulness. How sweet a thought.

The Faces of Lilian-part 2

Lilian is not an overly laughy, giggly baby, but boy can she make faces! Check these out!

The Faces of Lilian

Lilian has been trying out her face lately. So look out for a series of posts of her making faces. First, she has been scrunching her nose and opening her mouth! It's so funny! Enjoy!
