BREAKING GROUND!

Here is the guy from the basement company checking the depth of his first "hole". These guys were at the house by 6:00 AM! We are hoping they have the basement dug and footings poured before it starts raining. :) It's been quite the tedious process waiting on the bank and the weather. It seems that both are ready to cooperate with us now. Coincidence? I think not. I think God has a hand in every day life and it's great to see Him in control of even the bank! hee hee.

Freezing Driveway

The first step of this project was to get a driveway in so that big trucks wouldn't get stuck...or were less likely to get stuck. Too bad it was February and we had been in a cold snap of temperatures below 20 degrees! Exciting as it was, boy was it cold! You can see in the pictures that the job got done and the dirt had icicles!
Before!

After!

Look closely to see icicles hanging from the dirt in the center of the picture below.

Welcome to These walls are talking!

This is the blog of Jeff and Tia who are building a new house. Jeff will be doing a lot of the work himself with his trusty assistant and life partner, Tia. :) Check back for progress updates and photos.
